CalcuPK

How CalcuPK sources and checks its rates

Every figure on this site comes from an official document that CalcuPK has actually read — a Finance Act, an FBR circular, an SBP circular, an OGRA notification, a university prospectus. Where a figure cannot be traced to one, it is not published. This page sets out how that works, how often each kind of rate is reviewed, what the build refuses to ship, and how to tell CalcuPK it has something wrong.

Where each rate comes from

CalcuPK does not maintain one undifferentiated “rates file”. Each family of figures has a different authority behind it, changes on a different cycle, and is reviewed against a different document.

The rule CalcuPK will not break

No figure is invented. If an official source cannot be read, the number is not published — the page keeps the row and leaves the value out, and the page is kept out of the search index until the source is confirmed. That is enforced by the build, not by good intentions: a page carrying an unresolved figure cannot be advertised in the sitemap, and the build fails if one is.

The same rule is why several figures on this site are editable rather than fixed. A gold rate moves daily, a provincial transfer fee differs by city and valuation table, and a bank quotes its markup to you individually. For those, CalcuPK gives you a sensible starting value and a field to replace it, instead of printing one number and calling it the answer.

What runs before a page ships

  • Unresolved-figure check. The build fails if a page with an unconfirmed number is advertised for indexing.
  • Tax-engine verification. The slab engine is checked against worked examples for each tax year, including the official worked example published in one admissions prospectus, which is used as a regression test for the aggregate engine.
  • Content-date guard. Every page's source files are hashed. Change a page without moving its review date and the test fails, so a date on this site cannot quietly go stale.
  • Crawlability checks. The sitemap may contain only canonical, absolute, parameter-free URLs, and may never advertise a URL that merely redirects. Every page must supply a title, description and canonical, and render exactly one H1.
  • Attribution guard. No personal name may appear anywhere in the source, the public assets or the built output.

Corrections

If a number here is wrong, CalcuPK wants to know. Email support@calcupk.com with the page URL, the figure shown, the figure you believe is right, and the document you are comparing against. A report that names an official document is acted on fastest, because the fix is simply to change the number and cite that document. When a correction is made, the page's review date moves forward, so you can see that it was looked at.

What CalcuPK is not

CalcuPK is not a tax adviser, a bank, or an admissions office, and nothing here is a filing, a quotation, or an offer. The calculators exist so you can sanity-check a figure before you accept it — from an employer's payroll, a bank's term sheet, a dealer's quote or a merit list. Confirm the final number with the authority that will actually charge or admit you.

Frequently asked questions

From the enacted law and the notification that sets the figure: the Finance Act for income tax slabs, FBR circulars and withholding rate cards for withholding taxes, SBP BPRD circulars for auto-finance limits, OGRA and Petroleum Division notifications for fuel, NEPRA for electricity, and each university's own prospectus or admission regulations for merit formulas. Every rate-bearing page names its source and links to it.
