FBR Income Tax Calculator Pakistan

This FBR income tax calculator helps salaried Pakistanis work out exactly how much income tax they owe for the year. Enter your taxable income and the tool applies the progressive FBR salary slabs to show your annual tax, monthly tax, effective rate and marginal rate.

Because Pakistan's system is progressive, understanding your marginal rate helps with decisions like negotiating a raise or making a tax-deductible pension contribution. A higher salary always leaves you with more money after tax — only the portion inside a higher slab is taxed at the higher rate.

To see your full pay after provident fund and EOBI as well, use the Net Salary Calculator, or read how salary is taxed step by step in Income Tax on Salary in Pakistan.

What changed for Tax Year 2027

Finance Act 2026 revised the salaried-individual slabs from Tax Year 2026: lower marginal rates in the middle bands, new bands up to PKR 7,000,000 before the 35% top rate applies, and the 9.0% high-income surcharge abolished for salaried individuals. Switch the tax year in the calculator, or use the tax year comparison tool to see the exact difference for your income. Always verify the final figure with the FBR before filing.

Frequently asked questions

Pakistan uses progressive slabs. Each slab's rate applies only to income within that band, plus a fixed amount carried from lower slabs. Your effective rate is therefore lower than your top (marginal) rate.
