Zakat on cash & bank balance

Cash in hand, current and savings account balances, and money owed to you are all zakatable wealth. Add them up, deduct any immediate debts you owe, and if the net total is above the nisab and has been held for a full lunar year, Zakat is due at 2.5%.

How the 2.5% calculation works

Net zakatable wealth = (cash + bank + receivables + gold/silver + business assets) − immediate debts. Zakat = net wealth × 2.5%. The Zakat calculator totals everything for you and checks it against the nisab; see also the Zakat calculation guide.
