GPA and CGPA calculators
A semester GPA is your total quality points divided by your total attempted credit hours, where quality points equal grade point times credit hours. A CGPA repeats that calculation across every semester you have completed. Both are weighted by credit hours, so a 4-credit course moves your average almost twice as much as a 2-credit course.

Grading bands differ by university and sometimes by department. Where CalcuPK could not confirm a scale against an official document, it is shown as editable — enter grade points from your result card for an exact result.
Common mistakes
- Averaging grade points directly instead of weighting them by credit hours.
- Including non-credit or audit courses in the total credit hours.
- Entering a previous CGPA without the completed credit hours it was earned over, which makes it impossible to weight.
Key terms
- Admission aggregate
- A single percentage that combines your Matric, Intermediate and entry-test marks using the weights a university publishes. It is used to rank applicants on a merit list.
- GPA
- Grade Point Average — total quality points divided by total attempted credit hours for a single semester, on a scale that is usually 4.00.
- CGPA
- Cumulative Grade Point Average — the same calculation as GPA but across every completed semester, weighted by credit hours.
- Closing merit
- The aggregate of the last candidate admitted to a programme in a given year. It is set by supply and demand each cycle and is not a fixed pass mark.
